Troops from Operation Enduring Peace joined forces with community leaders to secure the release of Yahaya Uddido, abducted on April 9 in Pikat community, Kanam LGA of Plateau State. Months of non-kinetic engagements convinced his captors to abandon him near Kukawa. At about 12:20 p.m. on June 18, Sector 2 troops safely recovered Yahaya and reunited him with his family in Wase LGA. Authorities say the successful rescue highlights the power of dialogue and cooperation between security forces and local communities.
