Insights from the Parable of the Net (Matthew 13:47–52)
Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a fishing net that gathers every kind of fish. When the net is full, the fishermen pull it ashore, sort the good fish into baskets, and discard the rest. This image illustrates the final judgment. Angels will separate the righteous from the wicked, and those deemed unworthy face a frightening end. Jesus then explains that every teacher who becomes a disciple brings out both new and old treasures from the storehouse of faith. What does this parable teach us about discernment, faith, and the message we share?
