PAAU Bans Unregistered Vehicles and Tightens Security After Campus Killing
Prince Abubakar Audu University has banned unregistered cars and motorcycles from campus after a 300-level biochemistry student was killed by suspected cultists on June 11. Two suspects were arrested the same day, according to the Vice Chancellor. In a notice following the University Management Committee meeting, the Registrar announced these measures to protect staff, students and visitors. Personal cars with tinted windows or concealed number plates are barred. Students must enter and exit through the main gate, display their ID cards and suspend all unauthorized gatherings. Commercial motorcycle riders will be registered and limited to 35 km/h. Vehicle owners must obtain identification tallies or face a ₦5,000 fine. Solar-powered tricycles will complement campus shuttles.
