Zenith Bank Says Customer Funds and Login Details Remain Secure After Data Incident

Zenith Bank says it is investigating unauthorised access to a limited set of customer contact details, including email addresses and phone numbers. The bank said no account numbers, card details, passwords, PINs, OTPs or customer funds were accessed. According to the bank, its mobile app, internet banking, ATMs and other digital services remain operational. It said incident-response measures were activated immediately and remediation work is ongoing. The incident was described as part of a wider cyber campaign affecting organisations in different sectors. Customers have been advised to stay alert and never share passwords, PINs, OTPs or other security details through calls, texts or emails. Anyone who receives a suspicious message should avoid links and verify it through the bank's official channels or at a branch.

It is reassuring that the statement excludes funds, passwords, PINs and OTPs, though exposed phone numbers and emails can still cause concern.

Saying the affected set was limited is helpful, but customers may reasonably want clearer information once the investigation progresses.
