Two U.S. Army soldiers were killed after an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter crashed in an open field in Bell County, Texas, about 100 kilometres north of Austin. The helicopter was assigned to Fort Hood. The crash sparked a brush fire, prompting several firefighting crews to work to stop the flames from spreading across nearby grassland.
