Itele Fires Back at Critic: ‘Work Hard, Stay Humble, Let Your Results Make the Noise’
Nollywood star Ibrahim Yekini, known as Itele, has hit back at film critic Tolu Fagbure’s remark that he and colleague Eniola Ajao “have no business in cinema.” On his Instagram page he shared throwback photos and urged fans to stay humble, work hard, and let their achievements speak for them. Eniola Ajao also weighed in, praying that people focus on their own purpose instead of gossiping about others’ success. She affirmed her commitment to staying guided and allowing her results to do the talking. Itele’s critics need not worry now that he’s finally getting his long-deserved recognition. He recently picked up YouTube’s Gold Creator Award for reaching one million subscribers. Earlier this year his film “Koleoso” became the first Nollywood title to hit 100 million views on YouTube. Reflecting on his journey from being overlooked to celebrated, he encouraged followers not to give up. This past year saw Itele ranked among Nigeria’s Top 10 YouTube creators and his series named one of the country’s most searched for in 2025. He thanked his fans for their support and celebrated the organic growth of his Koleoso community.
