Why Christians Should Not Envy a Life of Sin

In 2004, I began taking long evening walks around my town. During those walks, I noticed many restaurants, bars and drinking spots. Some of them were reportedly used to arrange hookups between young women and wealthy men. I left the area for further studies and returned in 2015. By then, most of those spots had closed or been replaced by ordinary shops. I later heard that many of the women who ran them had died, while some survivors were seriously ill and rarely left their homes. The experience reminded me that outward wealth and pleasure can hide serious consequences. At the time, misinformation and limited awareness about HIV prevention and treatment made many people especially vulnerable.
