Use the ABCDE Method to Prioritise Your Work and Stay Focused

I learned a useful productivity system from Brian Tracy’s book, “Eat That Frog.” It is called the ABCDE Method, and it helps me decide what deserves my attention first. A means absolutely important. These tasks have serious consequences if ignored and major rewards when completed. Rank them as A1, A2 and A3, then start with A1 before moving to smaller tasks. For example, finishing a critical report or meeting an important client. B tasks should be done, but the consequences of delaying them are mild. C tasks are nice to do, with little or no consequence if left undone. D means delegate tasks that someone else can handle, while E means eliminate tasks that no longer add value. The key is to begin with your A1 task and stay with it until it is complete. Focusing on the most important work first can build discipline, confidence and real progress.
