Why Kidney Failure Is Increasing Among Nigerian Adults and Children

Kidney failure is affecting both adults and children in Nigeria. In adults, major causes include poorly controlled high blood pressure and diabetes. Kidney damage can also result from infections, injuries and inherited conditions. In children, kidney problems may be linked to congenital abnormalities, infections, genetic conditions, severe or untreated fever, and dehydration.
