The Nigeria Police Force announced that, between June 8 and 14, it arrested 173 suspects linked to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and murder nationwide. The force also rescued 32 kidnap victims and seized 33 firearms along with over 450 rounds of live ammunition. Delta State led with 51 arrests, followed by Imo State with 29 and the Federal Capital Territory with 22. Rivers and Imo states recovered six and five firearms respectively, while Oyo State accounted for the highest ammunition haul with 250 rounds. Operations involved intelligence-led deployments, coordinated tactical actions and collaboration with the military and local vigilante groups. These combined efforts also led to the neutralisation of 13 suspects and the recovery of 38 vehicles linked to criminal activities. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu affirmed the force’s commitment to proactive, technology-driven strategies to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public safety across Nigeria.
