Deliberate Failures: The System Keeping Nigerians Poor and Powerless
Nigeria’s wound keeps bleeding because those meant to heal it keep reopening it. Politicians wear masks of concern and speak of patriotism, but behind closed doors they maintain a cycle of looting while ordinary citizens suffer. Real solutions are within reach. If one individual can build a working refinery when a state institution cannot, it shows failure is not accidental but deliberate. Abandoning power reforms in favor of shortcuts is a declaration that darkness must endure. Hope has been reduced to survival. Daily bread has replaced dreams. As a few voices try to challenge the status quo, doors slam shut and fees soar to keep the same few in power. True governance would force leaders to live with the people, use the same roads, schools and hospitals, and feel the nation’s pain. Until that happens, meaningful change may remain out of reach this century.
