Kaduna APC Turmoil: Zailani and Laah Reject Senatorial Primaries, Demand Fresh Poll
The APC in Kaduna State is facing renewed turmoil as aggrieved aspirants reject the outcome of recent senatorial primaries. They insist no valid voting took place in any of the wards across the three districts. Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani and former Senator Danjuma Laah led the protest in Kaduna metropolis. They say party officials and voting materials never showed up, branding the exercise a sham. The campaign council of Zailani said the announced results do not reflect the will of party members. The group also faulted the delegate system used, arguing it contradicted the direct primary method approved by the APC National Working Committee. They are demanding that the primaries in Kaduna North, Central and South be nullified. They have called on the APC National Working Committee, the state electoral committee, and the Independent National Electoral Commission to intervene. They want fresh direct primaries conducted in line with party guidelines.
