Uber Launches Hotel Booking to Cement Its ‘Everything App’ Ambition

Uber Launches Hotel Booking to Cement Its ‘Everything App’ Ambition

Uber now lets users book hotel rooms directly within its app. The feature gives access to over 700,000 properties worldwide through a partnership with Expedia. Short-term rentals from Vrbo will be added later. The booking tool offers search filters, maps and guest ratings like standard travel sites. Users can complete reservations with saved payment details in just a few taps. This move follows Uber’s expansion from rides to food delivery and retail services. Uber’s CEO says the goal is to become an all-in-one platform for everyday needs. Future updates will introduce AI planning for meals, shopping lists and deliveries, plus a voice assistant for natural app navigation.

Combining ride hailing and hotel booking feels a bit forced—sometimes specialized platforms still deliver better search results and exclusives.
