How Women Leaders Build Africa’s Most Adaptive Organisations
By Lasbery Chioma Oludimu, VP Global Operations and MD of Yellow Card Nigeria In African business environments, adaptability is often a survival skill rather than a choice. Leading in structures not built for them, women develop resilience, strategic agility and sharp judgement under pressure. From my start as Assistant General Counsel to my current role at Yellow Card Nigeria, I’ve seen how individual adaptability becomes a competitive edge. When we launched our first African subsidiary in 2019, we designed systems to anticipate regulatory shifts and support steady growth across diverse markets. True operational adaptability is proactive. It demands stress-testing scenarios, defining risk limits and institutionalising foresight. Embedding this capability requires cross-team collaboration and a culture where people feel empowered to surface risks and solutions early.
