Slot: Liverpool Overpowered by PSG Pressure in Champions League

Slot: Liverpool Overpowered by PSG Pressure in Champions League

Liverpool boss Arne Slot admitted his side were outplayed by Paris Saint-Germain in the first-leg quarterfinal of the Champions League. PSG took the lead in the 11th minute when Desire Doue’s long-range shot deflected past Giorgi Mamardashvili. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the advantage in the 65th minute. Despite the loss, Slot told TNT Sport that the tie remains alive thanks to PSG’s wasteful finishing. He is relying on the Anfield crowd to inspire a comeback in the second leg.

Do you think Slot's approach left Liverpool vulnerable to PSG's quick attacks, or was it more about individual errors in that first leg?

Sure, Slot's setup seemed to invite PSG's pace, and couple of defensive lapses just made it worse.

Hmm, I'd say a few sloppy moments cost them more than Slot's setup.

Liverpool's defence looked shaky after the first goal, giving PSG too much space for that second strike before the break.

I'm not sure Slot admitting defeat helps much – sometimes it's better to focus on tactics than airing doubts publicly.

Liverpool need tighter marking and quicker press off the ball to repel long-range shots and avoid early setbacks in the next fixture.
