Ogun Police and Surveyors Unite to Curb Land Fraud and Impersonation
The Ogun State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen collaboration with the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Ogun State Branch. The partnership targets land-related fraud, professional impersonation, and threats to public peace. The NIS leadership, led by Chairman Surveyor Abiodun Olufemi Liadi, paid a courtesy visit to Commissioner of Police CP Bode Ojajuni at the Eleweran Command Headquarters in Abeokuta. They presented a comprehensive directory of all registered surveyors in the state along with the Institution’s Code of Conduct. The directory will help the police identify genuine professionals and expose impostors. The Association of Private Practicing Surveyors also assured that any member found breaching ethical guidelines would face strict disciplinary action, including possible licence revocation. CP Ojajuni described accurate surveying as vital for infrastructure growth, land administration, and security management. He pledged ongoing intelligence sharing and public awareness campaigns to curb land grabbing and fraudulent transactions across Ogun State.
