Rodri Hints at Manchester City Exit as Real Madrid Interest Intensifies

Rodri Hints at Manchester City Exit as Real Madrid Interest Intensifies — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has admitted he could leave the Etihad at the end of this season despite having a contract until June 2027. He has steadily regained his top form after last year’s ACL injury and played a key role in City’s recent Carabao Cup final victory. Yet strong interest from Real Madrid and his 2024 Ballon d’Or status have fuelled speculation over his long-term future. In a candid chat with a Spanish radio station, Rodri said that playing for Atlético Madrid in the past would not prevent him from joining Real Madrid. He also noted that he and City will need to sit down soon to discuss his remaining contract year. His comments arrive amid talk of a potential squad overhaul at the club.

Haha, you've nailed it—the heart versus legacy showdown: chasing that La Liga crown or sticking with City's build.

He's under contract until 2027 yet already hinting at a move; that seems like a negotiating tactic rather than genuine interest.

Real Madrid's interest might not guarantee a better fit; he could find more stability by staying and leading City's midfield.

City should plan succession by promoting a promising youth midfielder who can step in seamlessly if Rodri does leave.
