Building on the Rock: Lessons from 1 Corinthians 3

Paul rebukes the Corinthian church for spiritual immaturity. They still act like infants in Christ, showing jealousy and quarreling by claiming loyalty to different leaders. He reminds them that he and Apollos are only servants through whom they came to faith. God gives the growth, and each worker will be rewarded according to their labor. Paul warns them to build carefully on the one foundation—Jesus Christ. Their work will be tested by fire; only what endures will bring reward. He declares that all believers together form God’s temple, and human wisdom is foolishness before God. They should boast only in Christ, for all things are His.
