Lagos Intensifies Reforms to Plug Revenue Leakages in 80 State Agencies
The Lagos State Government has stepped up oversight across its parastatals and government-owned agencies to boost revenue generation and enforce accountability. At a recent ministerial briefing in Alausa, the Permanent Secretary of the Parastatals Monitoring Office outlined a year of aggressive reforms. These measures have improved efficiency, transparency and financial discipline in 80 revenue-generating agencies. Inspections of over 70 agencies in 2025 and ongoing evaluations in 2026 have focused on revenue performance, expenditure tracking, pension compliance and project execution. A dedicated project monitoring exercise also involved engineers from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to ensure value for money. Moving forward, the Office will deepen these reforms through KPI-driven evaluations, stronger inter-agency collaboration and enhanced stakeholder engagement to deliver sustainable governance.
