APC Sweeps National By-Elections as PDP Only Triumphs in Rivers South-East
The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced winners of recent by-elections across Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Kano, Kebbi and Nasarawa states. The All Progressives Congress dominated most contests. In Enugu North, Ikeje Asogwa scored 162,360 votes to defeat PDP’s Nestor Ezeme (9,299). APC’s Rabiu Garba Aiki won the Zuru State Constituency in Kebbi with 4,887 votes. In Kano’s Dawakin Kudu/Warawa, Rabiu Shuaibu polled 35,356. Dayo Faduyile triumphed in Ondo South with 68,474 votes, and Danladi Envulu-anza led Nasarawa North with 45,362. Only the Peoples Democratic Party secured a win in Rivers South-East, where Olaka Nwogu garnered 47,961 votes against APC’s Osar Erewari. Each by-election filled seats vacated by the deaths or appointments of former lawmakers and assembly leaders.
