Bukola Saraki Rules Himself Out of 2027 Presidential Race, Backs Southern Zoning

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki says he will not contest the 2027 presidency. He believes it is fair to allow the South its eight-year turn. Saraki recalls supporting his party’s decision to zone the next presidency to the South. While the PDP opened 2023 nominations to all regions, Saraki says the party agreed at a later meeting that 2027 should be a Southern ticket, and he will honour that decision.
