Ogun Police Impound 89 Unregistered Vehicles, Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects

The Ogun State Police Command has impounded 89 vehicles for operating without valid or obscured registration plates. The action formed part of a coordinated, intelligence-led operation ordered by the Inspector-General of Police. During the exercise, officers arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen car, two motorcycles, a knife, a spent cartridge and a broken padlock. One suspect, Abdulsalam Adam, was arrested after fleeing into a bush following an attempted home invasion in Ogere Remo. In a separate raid, police also intercepted another stolen Toyota Camry in Ajuwon and arrested Israel Salako. Both cases have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department as detectives hunt other gang members and remaining stolen items. The Commissioner of Police commended the swift response and urged motorists to comply with registration regulations. Residents were reminded to share credible intelligence and use only registered commercial vehicles to strengthen community security.
