Tinubu Champions Horse Racing to Empower Nigerian Youth
President Bola Tinubu says horse racing can be more than a sport for young Nigerians. He believes it can create jobs, foster businesses and help youths build successful careers. Speaking through Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani at the Renewed Hope West African Derby finale, Tinubu urged turning horse racing into a full industry. He highlighted its ties to culture, agriculture, tourism and entertainment. The president pledged technical and financial support to improve racing infrastructure, breeding standards and professional training. He asked state governments to collaborate with the Horse Racing Federation by providing land and facilities. Tinubu also paid tribute to Sir Ahmadu Bello for establishing organised horse racing in 1962. He said preserving cultural traditions while driving development is vital for national unity and progress.
