Lagos State Urges Contractors to Uphold Integrity and Quality in Public Projects

Lagos State Urges Contractors to Uphold Integrity and Quality in Public Projects

The Lagos State Government has warned contractors, consultants, suppliers and other service providers against practices that undermine public trust, delay project execution or compromise quality standards. Speaking at the Procurement Stakeholders’ Forum in Ikeja, Head of Service Olabode Agoro stressed that only credible and competent operators who deliver value for money will continue to enjoy government support. He emphasised the importance of transparency, professionalism and timely delivery to ensure that public funds translate into meaningful development for Lagos residents. LSPPA Director-General Fatai Idowu Onafowote described procurement as a strategic tool for economic growth and social inclusion. He urged stakeholders to embrace innovation, comply with regulations and strengthen partnerships to build a prosperous Lagos. The Chairman of the State Assembly Committee on Procurement, Samuel Apata, reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to policies that promote fairness, competitiveness and accountability in the procurement process.
