IOC Rejects Complaint Over Infantino’s Alleged Political Neutrality Breach
The International Olympic Committee has dismissed a complaint filed by human rights group FairSquare against FIFA president Gianni Infantino over alleged breaches of political neutrality rules. The IOC said the case falls outside its Ethics Commission’s jurisdiction because international federations keep their own independence and autonomy under the Olympic Charter. The complaint was tied to Infantino’s perceived support for Donald Trump. The IOC has also previously addressed controversy over his appearance at a Board of Peace meeting convened by Trump. FIFA later said its work in Gaza was part of a sport recovery and development programme.
