Free Repatriation Flight for Nigerians Stranded in South Africa

Free Repatriation Flight for Nigerians Stranded in South Africa

The Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg has announced a special flight to bring home nationals who are stranded or in an irregular situation and cannot afford airfare. To register, you or someone you know must submit: a passport photo and bio-data page; personal details (state of origin, LGA, birthplace); current address, phone, and email; and an explanation or proof of your situation. Registration is completely free. Do not pay anyone to apply. If you need assistance, contact the Consulate directly for guidance on the next steps.

How will the consulate prioritize registrations if there are more stranded Nigerians than available seats on this free flight?

Good point, they really need clear criteria so everyone understands who'll get a seat first.

What else should travellers consider before signing up for the Nigerian Consulate's free repatriation flight from Johannesburg?

It seems like the consulate's list might get overwhelmed quickly once word spreads.

I'm not convinced every stranded national will actually meet the criteria without further guidelines.

Start preparing clear scans of your passport picture page and bio-data, then reach out early to avoid last-minute issues.
