Uyo Man Sues Wife Over Daughter’s Paternity, Accuses Pastor

Uyo Man Sues Wife Over Daughter’s Paternity, Accuses Pastor — 1 of 2
1 / 2

A man from Uyo has dragged his wife to the Akwa Ibom State High Court to determine the paternity of their two-year-old daughter. He claims the child may be fathered by his wife’s pastor, whom she served as a family nurse. According to local judiciary reports, the petitioner says his wife frequently claimed night duty at a top Uyo hospital but was allegedly spotted at a hotel with the cleric. He also presented WhatsApp exchanges in which the pastor expressed concern that the child might one day recognize him as her father. The husband has cared for their third child since birth and says she is the gender he wanted for his third baby. He is seeking a court-ordered DNA test to confirm or refute his paternity doubts.

It's striking how personal accusations ended up in a public courtroom over a young child's paternity.
