Tinubu Mourns Late UN Peacekeeping Adviser Gen. Isaac Obiakor
President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Lieutenant General Chikadibia Isaac Obiakor (rtd), a distinguished soldier, diplomat and global peace advocate. He hailed General Obiakor as an outstanding patriot whose life of service to humanity, peace and national development left an enduring legacy of professionalism, courage and selfless leadership. As the first African to serve as United Nations military adviser for peacekeeping operations, General Obiakor’s work in conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction earned global recognition and strengthened the reputation of the Nigerian armed forces. The President extended heartfelt condolences to the Obiakor family, the people of Anambra State, the Nigerian Armed Forces and the international peacekeeping community. He prayed for eternal rest for the late general and comfort for all who mourn him.
