Forgiveness Frees the Heart From Bitterness
Forgiveness is not weakness. It is freedom from the pain and control of an offence. When we keep replaying a hurt, bitterness can turn a wounded heart into a prison. Jesus showed forgiveness even on the cross, praying for those who crucified Him. Joseph also refused revenge after his brothers betrayed him. Though he had the power to retaliate, he chose mercy and prevented another cycle of pain within his family. Forgiving does not mean excusing injustice or removing healthy boundaries. It means leaving vengeance to God and refusing to let another person's wrongdoing poison your heart. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Ask yourself: Is there an offence I still need to release? May God heal every wound, remove bitterness, and give us grace to forgive and walk in peace.
