On My Birthday, I Choose Reflection Over Celebration for Nigeria
Today is my birthday, but I have chosen not to celebrate. It is hard to light candles or force a smile while Nigeria faces deep economic hardship, failing institutions and growing uncertainty. Many ordinary people are struggling with inflation and the daily cost of survival, while those in power often seem far removed from these realities. I cannot pretend that everything is fine. Choosing reflection over celebration is my way of acknowledging the hardship around us and refusing to accept suffering as normal. To everyone carrying this burden, I stand with you. I hope we continue to demand a better and more accountable Nigeria.
