Ogun State Grants Civil Servants Weekly Rest Day and ₦10,000 Monthly Transport Allowance

The Ogun State Government has unveiled new measures to ease the burden of rising fuel costs on public servants. From April 2026, civil servants will receive one day off per week and a ₦10,000 transport allowance each month for three months. Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya explained that essential workers—medical staff, teachers, security officers and top administrators—are exempt from the weekly rest day to ensure uninterrupted service. Individual ministries will schedule off-duty days to maintain continuous operations. Onasanya commended Governor Dapo Abiodun’s timely intervention and urged workers to renew their commitment to duty during this period.
