Kwankwaso Dismisses Tinubu Support Rumours, Outlines Obi Coalition Plans
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has denied reports that he is secretly backing President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election. In a Global TV interview, he called such claims “foolish” and insisted his focus remains with the NDC and its vision for Nigerians. He acknowledged a long personal history with Tinubu but emphasized they belong to different political camps. Kwankwaso also accused some of the president’s aides of overlooking Nigeria’s real economic and security challenges while recruiting governors for the APC. On his alliance with Peter Obi, the former Kano governor said the partnership was born out of careful consultations. He views Obi as the strongest southern candidate and urged Nigerians to judge the coalition by its promise of better leadership and new choices ahead of 2027.
