Anambra Police Strengthens Security Ahead of Easter Celebrations

Anambra Police Strengthens Security Ahead of Easter Celebrations

As Good Friday marks the start of Easter, the Anambra State Police Command has activated the final phase of its security plan. Officers are deployed to churches, highways, motor parks and other public areas across the state. Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu called on Ndi Anambra to embrace sacrifice, love and reflection during the festive period. He urged everyone to promote peace, unity and lawful conduct while the security architecture is in place. Under the Joint Security Operational Order, the command has intensified patrols, intelligence-led operations and stop-and-search duties. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay vigilant and share any information on suspicious movements. The police wish all a safe and peaceful Easter celebration.

Relying heavily on uniformed presence feels outdated; exploring community partnerships or tech solutions might offer better deterrence than just boots on the ground.

Consider setting up hotline numbers and community watch groups around churches and motor parks so locals can report suspicious activities quickly.
