Peter Obi’s Name Remains on INEC Portal Despite NDC Deregistration Ruling

INEC has listed Peter Obi as the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress on its portal. This comes after a Federal High Court in Lokoja nullified the party’s registration over a logo dispute raised by the Peace Movement Party. NDC National Leader Seriake Dickson said the party has filed an appeal and a stay of execution, insisting it remains validly registered. He noted that both his name and Obi’s have been uploaded, with the vice-presidential nominee’s documentation to follow shortly. Dickson assured members there is still time under INEC’s timetable to submit all candidates for National Assembly, governorship, and state assembly elections. He praised the electoral commission’s professionalism and urged it to maintain neutrality as the legal process unfolds.
