Oyo Government Urged to Clarify Gbolarumi’s Deputy Governor Tenure
A citizen researcher has formally asked the Oyo State Government to confirm details about Hazeem Gbolarumi’s role as deputy governor during the 11-month impeachment of ex-Governor Rashidi Ladoja. In a letter dated June 22 and received on June 24, the request stresses the need for historical accuracy, transparency and public accountability. It seeks confirmation of whether Gbolarumi was duly sworn in, his exact dates in office, and whether his official portrait features among former deputy governors. The letter also asks if Gbolarumi has received any emoluments, pensions or allowances and requests copies of Gazette notices, swearing-in records and Executive Council documents. Two Supreme Court rulings were cited to support the inquiry, which demands a response within 14 days.
