Luke 17:1-10 – Lessons on Sin, Faith and Duty
In Luke 17:1-10, Jesus warns that temptations are inevitable but warns against causing others to stumble. He teaches us to confront wrongdoing among friends and to forgive repeatedly when they repent. The disciples ask for greater faith, and Jesus replies that even a small amount can move a tree if it obeys God’s will. True faith empowers us beyond our expectations. Finally, Jesus compares our service to that of a servant fulfilling duty. After doing all we are commanded, we should humbly acknowledge that we are “unworthy servants” who have only done our duty.
