Anambra Police Raid Awka Hideout, Arrest 17 Alleged Vikings Cultists
The Anambra State Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit carried out an early morning operation in Awka and detained 17 men on suspicion of cult activities. Police recovered suspected cannabis leaves, containers of petroleum jelly, condoms and other items during the raid at a known hideout. Initial questioning linked the suspects to the Vikings confraternity, also called "Bagger," and raised concerns about alleged immoral activities at the location. The Command’s spokesperson emphasized that cultism, drug abuse and all forms of criminality will not be tolerated in the state. Investigations are ongoing to determine each individual’s level of involvement.
