Presidency Mocks Oyegun’s ‘APC’ Slip at ADC Convention

Presidency Mocks Oyegun’s ‘APC’ Slip at ADC Convention

A memorable moment at the ADC National Convention in Abuja saw former APC chairman John Odigie-Oyegun accidentally shout “APC” instead of “ADC” while addressing delegates. The slip drew laughter and led Oyegun to quip that he needed “something strong” to clear it from his system. On Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, joined in the banter online. Onanuga tweeted that Oyegun’s heart remains with the APC, not the “rickety vehicle called ADC,” highlighting the former chairman’s struggle to embrace his new party. Odigie-Oyegun, once a key APC figure, formally joined the ADC in recent months.
