Plateau Police Arraign 14 Drivers for Concealed and Altered Number Plates
The Plateau State Police Command has arraigned fourteen motorists in Jos for violating vehicle registration rules. They face charges over concealed, defaced or unauthorized foreign number plates, and replacing approved plates with manufacturer logos or other inscriptions. The operation, led by Commissioner of Police Bassey Ewah under the directive of the Inspector General of Police, targets security risks from improperly registered vehicles. Police Public Relations Officer Alfred Alabo said the sweep will improve vehicle identification and tracking. So far, fourteen vehicles have been impounded and the drivers charged in court. Motorists across the state are advised to comply with registration requirements and ensure number plates remain visible.
