Flying Eagles Arrive in Abidjan Ready to Defend WAFU B U-20 Crown

The Flying Eagles have landed in Abidjan ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship. The team departed Abuja early Monday and will continue to the host city, Yamoussoukro. Head coach Abdu Maikaba’s side opens its title defense against Ghana’s Black Satellites on July 27 at Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro. They then face Togo’s Junior Sparrow Hawks three days later before closing out Group B against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on August 2. This tournament also doubles as the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, with top performers earning a spot on the continental stage.
