UI Law Student Abducted En Route from Scripture Union Conference, SUG Confirms

UI Law Student Abducted En Route from Scripture Union Conference, SUG Confirms

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union Government says a 300-level law student, Tomisin, was abducted while returning from the Scripture Union National Conference in Imo State. Tomisin, who serves as National Secretary of the Scripture Union Student Fellowship and UI chapter Vice President, was travelling with the fellowship’s National General Director and other participants when communication was lost. Contrary to viral reports, the union confirms she is the only UI student missing after she failed to sit her faculty exams. Another UI attendee from the Music Department has since returned safely. The union has contacted security agencies and religious organisations for intervention. The university’s Public Relations office noted Tomisin left campus without official permission and called for prayers toward her safe release.

Student unions should partner with local law enforcement to map high-risk corridors and organise group transport with regular check-ins.
