Northern Coalition Accuses FG of ‘Selective Outrage’ Over Oyo and Borno School Abductions
The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) says the Federal Government applied double standards in handling recent school kidnappings in Oyo and Borno states. While about 46 pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo on May 15, 2026, drew immediate federal visits and extra security deployments, 42 pupils seized the same day in Borno were largely ignored. CNG’s national coordinator called the disparity a pattern of selective outrage. The group insists every Nigerian life has equal value, regardless of location or politics. It urges the government to extend the same urgency, high-level attention and rescue efforts to Borno and adopt a unified strategy against terrorism and banditry nationwide. The coalition demands equal protection for all citizens and warns that inconsistent security responses deepen public frustration and threaten national unity.
