Governor Yusuf Launches Task Force and Signs Order to Curb Thuggery and Drug Abuse in Kano

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has inaugurated a Multi-Agency Task Force on drug abuse, thuggery and related crimes. He also signed an executive order to strengthen the legal framework for dismantling criminal gangs and curbing political violence. The task force will coordinate intelligence gathering, enforcement actions, public education and rehabilitation efforts. The government has pledged funding, vehicles, office space and operational independence to ensure its mandate is fulfilled. New rehabilitation centres for male and female patients have been set up. The governor urged residents to support the task force with credible information and cooperation. He said these measures will help reduce violent crimes and promote lasting peace in Kano State.
