Defending Bishop Oyedepo’s Stand Against Vote Buying

Defending Bishop Oyedepo’s Stand Against Vote Buying

I don’t understand the hatred some Nigerians have toward Bishop Oyedepo. He consistently stands with candidates who want the best for Nigeria. He is not tribalistic or self-serving. Recently, he spoke out against vote buying and questioned where that money goes. Yet he was attacked online for this stance. What more do you want from him? He has long criticized bad governance and insecurity. Criticizing his wealth is unfair. As a prominent man of God, he needs security so he isn’t kidnapped and the church burdened with ransom. Let’s critique with sense. He is innocent in these accusations.

True talk. He wanted to expose how vote buying fuels corruption and urge us to value our vote's power.

Perhaps he just wants political influence, not genuine reform. Don't you think he benefits from the system too?

I get the point about vote buying, but his past political endorsements sometimes seemed equally self-serving.

Church leaders could partner with civic groups to track campaign funds and report suspicious vote buying activities transparently.
