The EFCC later named her wanted on money laundering allegations and secured a court order to freeze $13 million linked to her firm. Achimugu denies wrongdoing and says only modest amounts belonging to her mother were seized. She also defended the oil block award to her company, describing the bidding process as transparent and competitive. On being labeled a “sugar baby,” she insisted her connections to political figures result from her success and networking, not from special favors or hidden deals.
