Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team kicked off the FIBA World Cup 2027 African qualifiers with an 84-81 win over Tunisia. Chimezie Metu and Ike Iroegbu led the charge with 17 points each, while Wes Iwundu added 14 and Uche Iroegbu chipped in 13. The contest swung back and forth until Nigeria executed in the final moments to seal the victory. The result gives the D’Tigers a vital boost as they pursue qualification for the World Cup in Qatar.
