Inside Senegal’s Commando-Style Political Shake-Up

Inside Senegal’s Commando-Style Political Shake-Up

Two young politicians in Senegal tried to unseat the older generation. One was barred from running by a defamation ruling and asked his friend to stand in his place. After Basirou Faye won the presidency, he appointed Ousmane Sonko as prime minister. Policy clashes and advice from regional leaders led Faye to sack Sonko.
