BURN Launches Renewed Hope Climate Tour at Kano Clean Cookstove Factory
BURN today hosted the first official stop of the Renewed Hope Climate Change Awareness Tour at its flagship clean cookstove factory in Kano. The visit brought together senior representatives from the Presidency, federal ministries, development partners and state leadership to highlight practical climate solutions. As one of Africa’s largest clean cookstove assembly plants, the factory now produces 35,000 stoves per month with capacity to scale further. Earlier this month, Nigeria granted BURN a Letter of Authorization to export carbon credits under the Paris Agreement, opening international markets and driving local green investment. Speeches from government and climate leaders underscored Kano’s role in sustainable industrialisation and carbon finance. BURN’s operations showcase how local manufacturing, policy support and private-sector funding can deliver emissions reductions, public health improvements and new jobs. Since 2023, BURN has distributed over one million stoves nationwide. The company’s work in Kano demonstrates how Nigeria can lead in climate technology and clean energy manufacturing while creating economic opportunities.
