Shatta Wale Reveals Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid as His Top Afrobeats Inspirations

Shatta Wale Reveals Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid as His Top Afrobeats Inspirations

Shatta Wale has shared his three favourite Afrobeats artists and explained why they drive his passion for music. Speaking on a popular Afrobeats podcast, he said these stars motivate him to push his craft further. He recalled meeting Davido first and learning his father loved an early hit of his. Though their careers took off, they’ve kept a strong bond off-camera. Burna Boy, he said, is like a twin brother who supported him when times were tough. Wizkid, he added, is easygoing and busy, so they’ve only crossed paths at shows and in Accra’s East Legon. Shatta Wale hopes to collaborate with all three artists once schedules allow, believing their success shows what’s possible for Ghanaian acts going global.

I get respecting big names like Davido and Burna Boy, but Shatta grew by challenging norms, not following trends.
