Jeff Bezos in Talks to Join Liverpool FC Stake Bid

A consortium led by British-Indian investor Amit Bhatia has held initial talks with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos about acquiring a minority stake in Liverpool FC. Bezos was approached to join discussions with current owners Fenway Sports Group over a small share in the Anfield club. The group, which includes Bhatia (son-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal), has appointed advisers to structure a deal. In 2023, a 4% stake was sold by Fenway Sports Group to US firm Dynasty Equity for £164 million. Any new investment from Bezos could further reshape ownership of the Premier League side.
